Who needs sleep?

I do.  And unfortunately, sleep has been eluding me.  Since I came back from florida from my uncle's funeral, I think I have had maybe 4-5 nights of good sleep (the good news is, last night was one of them). I think it is due in large part to my menopausal state, for which I have the chemo to thank.  For the past month I have been having hot flashes about 20 times a day too.

The last few weeks have been particularly trying in terms of my mood. As I sit here typing, I am using one of those lightboxes designed to help prevent winter depression and help prevent fatigue, in hopes that this will help some.  The lack of good sleep has been another big factor, so am hoping to get some better sleep!

On the plus side, I have been (for the most part) really enjoying the training to get ready for the half marathon.  This past saturday ran/walked 6 1/2 miles .... only another 6 1/2 plus .1 to go!

I continue with follow up visits to my doctors, rotating among my surgeon, oncologist and radiation oncologist.  Last week I saw my oncologist.  I told her about my constant fear that any tiny change in my body means that the cancer has come back.  For instance, my rib cage had been hurting for a while and I thought the cancer had metastasized to my ribs.  And I worry about every new mole.  I did see my regular dr. about the rib cage, at which point the pain went away.  Of course.  My oncologist examined me and said everything seems fine.   Next up - my radiation oncologist in February.

A belated happy new year to anyone who may be reading this!
